What’s new for 2020

Published by Admin on

Tarpon Season is here and we hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe social-distance by staying on the water as much as possible!

Due to the restrictions Covid-19 has brought to all of us, there will be an entirely new format this year.  We plan to return to our traditional ten-week format next year, and we hope you’ll join us for a boatload of fun August 1-2, 2020. Here are a few of the changes we’ve made:

  • Instead of 10 weeks of non-stop fishing, we’re hosting a two-day tournament, starting at 6am August 1st and ending at 3pm on August 2nd
  • This year we’re doing Boat Entries instead of individual. This will allow for up to 4 anglers to fish per team
  • All tarpon releases will be photo-documented via iAnger. We recognize the challenges this may bring, but we’re also excited to see each release and track them in real-time.
  • We’re also hosting a Junior’s 1 Day Tournament on July 25th that will also be photo-release via iAngler.

Please checkout the new rules for more information. Our tournament site on iAngler isn’t available yet, but will be soon.

We are looking forward to celebrating our 86th year, and hoping that you will join in!  If you have questions about the rules or new format, please reach out via Facebook. We love hearing from our anglers!

Tight lines,

Your STR Board of Directors
